RE: Suggestions for "business cards"

As a former print shop owner I can tell you that printing business cards is a lost leader and rarely is a card buyer turned into a customer. A card, single or multiple color needs to be on card stock not paper which can be run thru a computer printer.
All the above being said, I think the best option presented is the first, Color Cards. Second best would be Staples were we have gone.
Not true we use a light weight picture paper and laminate with Self-adhesive laminating sheets(Avery #73601). We cut the paper to 4" X 5 1/2" size. Print IN COLOR one side, then the other side. Place 4 cards on the laminate sheets(laminating both sides). Trim with X-acto paper cutter and fold cards in half.

The inside has the written info. We use four pics but you can have any amount(i.e. one picture on standard size business card)

RE: Suggestions for "business cards"

We make ours on the computer/printer. We print picture(s) on one side and put info on the other side. We then laminate and fold in half so it is the size of a regular business card. We are able to put up to four pictures on a card. A little more expensive then having them made but provides great flexibility and easy to change, fun to make.

RE: Towing or Carrying a Harley or Gold Wing

Heck with the coach, the rear lifts take there toll on the bike.
For two years And forty-thousand miles our 04 American Eagle was equiped with a
American RV lift. Never knew it was there but the ULTRA-CLASSIC spent alot of time out in the weather. That's just part of the problem.
With the "Gatorhyde" cover never had a speck of dust or any water on the bike on the rear lift for three years! Our '96 Fatboy looks like it is brand new.
Went to the garage to be able to carry ATVs, etc. in addition to the bike and the ease of loading/unloading.

RE: Towing or Carrying a Harley or Gold Wing

I would not dangle that much weight on the back of any rv, tag axle or not.
Kind of like putting an engine in the rear:)

RE: Best way to park MH during hurricane?

The one issue with parking next to a building is this. Most commercial buildings have 'built up' flat roofs. Strong winds seem to first rip the edge protection off, and then rip up the roof. The roof is often deposited on other side of the building, and is VERY heavy. I'm not sure, but I would guess that it could do great damage to your RV.
Its all a risk.
Again, actual experience, we were gone to South America fishing when one hit and we requested our friends to put the coach in his airplane hangar(which was built to hurricane codes at the time it was built). They said no we will leave it outside next to the hangar and move it around as the storm passes, which they did. Guess what it was fine, not a scratch, but the skylight blew out of the hangar and tore up his airplane and two cars inside the hangar. Again we kept it close to the house four other times and only the one scratch from the window hurricane shutter, while missiles blew around everywhere(we would not want it standing by itself when a sound structure is available nearby to protect it from the missiles-but yes if an open field is available take it).

RE: Best way to park MH during hurricane?

Been there done that, 5 hurricanes with RVs and 3 with boats in the Bahamas and Aruba(all over 100 mph up to 115). One small scrape on the RV from shutter that blew off my house. No damage on boats.
Up to 100mph, don't worry about tipping over(however most damage is done by Tornados spun off from the hurricane that could tip you over-odds are minimal), over 100 mph time to think about hitting the road if possible. Slides in, jacks down and stay away from anything that can be blown at you-although sitting next to a secure building(downwind) will protect you on one side(move to other side when eye passes). Do not tape windows!

RE: Persuading Wife To Try Driving MH

what I did with my first motorhome was on trips out west, find two rest stops on the interstate about 60 miles apart with absolutely nothing between them to let her practice.
bumpy
Been there, done that, didn't work. No traffic for 300 miles, she gets behind the wheel and lane closure with solid trucks. Pylons are soo close toegether she barely squeezes thru, we get off at next exit and switch drivers without stopping(had practice from back in the sixties)!

Absolutely no problem on the back of our 36' Bounder(30,000 miles) with the CORRECT receiver! And don't forget a Gatorhyde type cover!

RE: Ice maker in refer

We use it all the time. Obviously the unit may not work when dry camping, but when the gen. is on, the unit will work.
Fred
??? Why not? LP for the "cooler" and 12V for the electric part of it..??
At least with our Norcold the icemaker itself requires 120V AC, the 'fridge requires 12V DC for the electronics and the actual cooling can be either LP or 120V AC.
True, for most frigs, however if you wire the ice maker to an inverter outlet you can make ice 100% of the time(some coach manufacturers make this a standard, we had to modify ours by adding the inverter outlet to the frig area). PS would not have a coach without a ice maker!

RE: Mid engine pusher?? Anyone got one?

If it drives by the rear wheels it is a pusher, GMC, Revcon, & etc. are pullers in the true since of the word. JMO.
Actually according to the "RV Terminology" : Diesel Pusher-is the term for a rear engine diesel motorhome.
Diesel Puller-is the term for a front engine diesel motorhome.
ME(Mid Engine)-is the term for a mid engine motorhome. Apparantly the terms have nothing to with front or rear wheel drive!

RE: Mid engine pusher?? Anyone got one?

Absolutely no noise or heat from the engine(even with the access hatch in the hallway) with the Newmar AllStar Mid-Engine. However one of major reasons we did not buy the Travel Supreme ME was the engine noise-they did not do as good a job of insulation.

RE: Ultra Guard "Mud flap"

Also be careful where you mount it! If mounted too far back when going over culverts, etc. it will raise up and either bend on your tow receiver, or scratch your rear end paint,etc.. We have shortened our mud flap(it still hits) and added the Ptotect-A-Tow. Since adding the PAT no dings, previous to it many many dings. Also agree with removing the flap when on rough roads(Alaska, etc.).

RE: Roadmaster VS. Spartan???

dav5942 can you explain "drive a ME and you will probably will never drive a DP again"
Just my HO of the handling/drivability/ride of the mid-engine coach-we really enjoy driving it as much as our cars. Of course I could be biased as we have one but, drive one and you might also see a big difference from a DP.

RE: Roadmaster VS. Spartan???

If Roadmaster had a ME(mid engine) chassis I guess you might be able to do a comparison but since they do not-no comparison to the Spartan ME(drive a ME and you will probably will never drive a DP again) !
